Silicon Road

Silicon Road is a weekly newsletter reading the new compute map — tracking China’s AI infrastructure as it goes global, and the industry, geopolitics, and supply chains it’s reshaping along the way.

What you’ll get

Every week, one long-form piece covering one of three things:

  • Project tracking — what Chinese compute players are actually building in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, and Europe

  • Signal synthesis — public information pieced together into pictures you haven’t seen elsewhere

  • Dual-lens analysis — industry supply chain meets geopolitics, written by a product manager who works near the problem

What this isn’t

  • Not a news aggregator. Not breaking news.

  • Not opinion columns. Not partisan commentary.

  • Not English coverage of China translated from Chinese media. This is independent analysis. One writer, one angle, weekly.

About the author

I’m Liam, an AI product manager based in mainland China. I’ve spent the past decade working across cross-border trade, infrastructure operations, industrial digitization, and now AI infrastructure products.

I’m not a seasoned China tech analyst. I’m not an insider with leaked memos. I started Silicon Road because no one was systematically tracking China’s compute going global — and the intersection of industry chains and geopolitics is where I can’t stop looking.

Languages

Silicon Road publishes in both English and Chinese. If you read Chinese, the full version is always available.
